What is Delta Epsilon Phi?
Delta Epsilon Phi is a national German honor society for high school German students. I am currently working on making the honor society an active part of the German program at Fairview High School and welcome any suggestions.
How does one become a member?
To be eligible to be a member of Delta Epsilon Phi, a student must meet all of the following criteria:
- Student must be currently enrolled in German at Fairview High School or must be taking a university class after having completed German 5.
- Student must have completed one year of German at Fairview High School.
- Student must be enrolled in German Level 3 or higher.
- Student must have a 4.0 cumulative high school GPA.
- Student must have a 4.0 GPA in German.
- Student must show integrity and enthusiasm in German, in school and in other activities.
What does Delta Epsilon Phi do?
Delta Epsilon Phi is an academic honor organization, and its activities will focus more on academic German. Plans include offering tutoring in German and planning activities that promote German study at Fairview. We also nominate one student each year for the Käthe Wilson Scholarship, which sends a student to Germany for three weeks to live with a host family and attend a German school. You can learn more about this organization and the opportunities it offers its members at AATG's website.
